A couple of poems I found in one of my little books. Both are about my daughter, Milly, born January 2007.
Neither of the poems are dated...

poem one

I wanted to see you
I wanted to feel you
Skin to skin
kin to kin
What was life like before this?
A groundhog day that went amiss
Waiting for the day that you'd arrive.
Well now you're here.

We're so lucky to have you
We're so lucky to hold you
We're so lucky to feel you
We're so lucky to know you.

poem two

Waited so long for you to come
and now I can't believe that you are here
and at home.
I can't remember when you never were,
waiting for you to arrive, a whole year.
